Salt Lake Sector V Paid a Musical Tribute to Greatest Musical Minds of Bollywood

Inspirations, the corporate cultural platform to celebrate music in Salt Lake Sector V, hit back to celebrate the “Evergreen Voices of Bollywood” on July 28, at their known venue – Infinity Benchmark Lobby. The event was organized by Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation, in association with Infinity Group and Salt Lake Sector V Stakeholders’ Association.

Performers from Salt Lake Sector V along with Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation took the audience through a little journey into the crazy world of Bollywood Film Music and the different styles and influences that made it so interesting.

Aninda Das from Infinity Group and Secretary of Salt Lake Sector V Stakeholders’ Association welcomed the dignitaries, performers, and the audience and thanked them for their continuous support to make Inspirations a success month after month.

Bollywood music has spread its wings to imbibe many cultures, not only from every corner of India but from the world to show how such a country can be united by the same passion. The tremendous influence of various types of music from folk to rock, from classical to contemporary was widely accepted by its listeners. Ananya Mitra of Infinity Business Centre and Anindya Chakraborty began the show with popular English number as a proof of this musical diversity. Later the duo went on to perform several retro numbers which had won the hearts of millions of their times.

Rajib Gupta and Jhinuk Gupta from Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation took the audience through a musical journey of Indian Cinema starting from an early stage of playback singing to end with popular Hindi numbers of the modern times. Through their presentation, they paid a holy tribute to singers and music directors like Pankaj Mullick, Kishore Kumar, R.D. Burman, Asha Bhosle, A.R. Rahman and more, whose voice, during their times became more famous than most actors and was indivisible from the cinema.

The last performance was certainly a very special one. The team from Oriental Nicco, lead by Mr. Subrata Basu, Senior Vice President of the organization took the stage. Through their performance, the audience journeyed from the Golden Age of Bollywood Music through the Disco time to end with Retro. Several popular numbers of R.D.Burman, O.P.Nayyar, Naushad Sahab, Madam Mohan, A.R.Rahman and of several others were performed seamlessly. Their team spirit was shown through every note they played and every word they hummed.

The show was ended with the felicitation ceremony of the guests. While welcoming Mr. Debasish Sen, Chairman NDITA & HIDCO to do the honor, Aninda mentioned, “Mr. Sen had been extending his continuous support toward Inspirations and various other corporate events in Salt Lake Sector V. It is a great honor to have him amongst us each time”. Aninda further welcomed and congratulated Mr. Sen for taking charge of the Information Technology Sector of Govt. of West Bengal.

Like the previous times, the Sector V Community showed their gratitude to dignitaries who have been contributing toward Corporate Social Responsibility and promotion of Music, Art, and Culture. Mr. Sen felicitated the Guest of Honor, Mr. Soumyajit Mahapatra, Chairman Public Relation Society of India (PRSI), Kolkata Chapter and Mr. Subrata Basu, Senior Vice President, Oriental Nicco.
