There was excitement in the air as young and middle-aged professionals flocked the mini Auto Expo organized on March 16, 2018 in Salt Lake Sector V at Infinity Think Tank. While many came for a market survey, for several others it was a ‘dream-come-true’ moment as they planned their first vehicle.

With a footfall of approximately 2 lac working professionals, Salt Lake Sector V is turning out as a top market for brands to exhibit or advertise their products with opportunities to branch out to the right consumers and create brand awareness.

Several global automobile companies are now choosing Salt Lake Sector V community to showcase their products. This was one such effort for internationals brands like Renault, Hyundai, Toyota, KTM, Royal Enfield and Triumph Motorcycles to exhibit their products in the largest techno-commercial hub of Eastern India. The response was not only overwhelming, but also brands could reach out to their target market.

The Indian auto industry is one of the largest in the world. The industry accounts for 7.1 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).Indian automotive industry (including component manufacturing) is expected to reach Rs 16.16-18.18 trillion (US$ 251.4-282.8 billion) by 2026. Two-wheeler dominate the industry and had a 79 per cent share in the automobile production in FY17. Sales of cars, utility vehicles and vans grew 8.85 per cent during calendar year 2017. Automobile exports from India increased 13.01 per cent year-on-year in April-December 2017. Indian automobile industry has received foreign direct investments (FDI) worth US$ 17.91 billion between April 2000 and September 2017.
